Dine Brands Global has announced the opening of the first dual-branded Applebee’s/IHOP (International House of Pancakes) restaurant in Seguin, in the US state of Texas.

The dual-branded restaurant, opened in partnership with franchisee Ramzi Hakim Group, features two separate dining areas: one reflecting Applebee’s traditional setting and the other designed with IHOP’s bright and casual atmosphere.

Shared spaces, such as the host stand and restrooms, connect the two restaurants, which share a single kitchen and back-of-house operations.

The outlet offers new, exclusive menu items such as the Buffalo Chicken Omelette and the Ultimate Breakfast Burger, along with IHOP’s signature pancakes and breakfast options, and Applebee’s boneless wings and burgers.

The outlet also offers speciality cocktails such as espresso martinis and Irish coffee.

Dine Brands CEO John Peyton stated: “For decades, Applebee’s and IHOP have been places where friends gather, families celebrate and careers begin. Now, with our dual-branded restaurant, we are combining the strengths of both brands to create a unique and innovative dining experience that offers choice, variety and value to guests.

“Our international success with this concept has shown that our brand menus complement each other, providing something for everyone, from early mornings to late nights. We are excited to bring this new dining option to Seguin and look forward to expanding it to more communities across the country.”

As of 30 September 2024, Dine Brands franchised 13 international dual-branded locations across Canada, Mexico, Honduras and the Middle East.

In September 2024, Dine Brands opened a new dual-branded restaurant concept in San Pedro Sula, Honduras.

The company plans to expand this model within the US and aims to launch 14 more dual-branded restaurants by 2026, converting some existing single-brand sites and setting up new ones.
