US-based food delivery company DoorDash has further bolstered its presence in New Zealand by commencing operations in Auckland, according to a report by the NZ Herald.

The company forayed into the New Zealand market in May 2022 by launching its services in Wellington. The company then expanded into Christchurch later that year.

By launching its operations in Auckland, DoorDash has significantly expanded its presence in the country.

It will serve customers across North Shore, Central, West Auckland, East Auckland and Drury.

According to the news agency, the food delivery platform has already partnered with major restaurant brands such as McDonald’s, KFC, Tank Juice and Hell Pizza.

The company is also said to have partnered with a few local restaurant brands, including Pizza Club, Chicking, Sumthin Dumplin, Daily Bread, Duck Island, Tiger Burger and Wise Boys.

It has also joined forces with local convenience stores and cafes.

DoorDash New Zealand, Australia and Canada general manager Rebecca Burrows was quoted by various agencies as saying: “We’ve already been overwhelmed by the reception we’ve had from local restaurants, so cannot wait to help them deliver even more of their incredible food to Aucklanders across the city.

“We’re excited to continue connecting fantastic local restaurants with their customers from afar in Auckland and grow our coverage across the country to bring more to people’s doors.”

To celebrate the occasion, DoorDash is offering customers 50% off on their first two orders and free delivery for their first 30 days.
