Dubai-based global air services provider dnata has opened a new flight catering facility at Dublin Airport, Ireland.
Unveiled by dnata president Gary Chapman, the new facility is the second to open in Ireland following Cork catering facility and joins the firm’s portfolio of 61 catering locations globally.

With the expansion into the Irish market, the Dublin facility is expected to generate 60 new jobs such as chefs, operations managers, logistics managers, drivers, stores, and health and safety staff.
Gary Chapman said: “Passenger traffic through Dublin Airport is up year-on-year since 2011 and it is just a matter of time before it reaches the 30 million mark.
“We work with chefs and teams from around the world with diverse expertise. This means we understand the culinary needs of our airline customers’ equally diverse range of passengers and can cater to a raft of palates and dietary requirements including Halal, Indian, Chinese and of course, Irish.”
The catering facility includes industrial-sized kitchen, food preparation and assembly areas and storage options.

By GlobalDataWith a current supply capacity of 4,000 meals per day, the Dublin facility offers catering services to airways focused on long-haul carriers.
Dublin Airport managing director Vincent Harrison said: “Dublin Airport is a major economic hub supporting or facilitating almost 120,000 jobs. Airport service providers of dnata’s calibre really help to support our wider airport operation and in turn, our airline customers.”
Having 40,000 employees globally, dnata, an Emirates Group subsidiary, prepares more than 320,000 meals every day, serving more than 190 airlines in 129 airports over 84 countries across six continents.
