Cantonese cuisine specialist Duddell’s opened its first restaurant outside of Hong Kong last week (28 November) in St Thomas Church, London Bridge.

With two Michelin stars, head chef Daren Liew – previously executive sous chef with the Hakkasan Group – will be serving the “classic-meets-contemporary menu” of authentic Cantonese dishes – all either steamed or stir fried.

Starters include spicy almond soft shell crab and X.O beef shin with sea vegetables, while mains range from truffle-roasted black cod to rhug estate lamb with shishito pepper and eryngii mushrooms, and its signature Peking duck feast.

The restaurant also features an open dim sum kitchen and bar, and standalone bar from which it will serve a variety of old and new world wines as well as classic and innovative Asian-inspired cocktails.

The ground floor restaurant can cater for 56 covers, and the semi-private mezzanine level 44 covers.
