US-based fire-grilled chicken restaurant El Pollo Loco has introduced its new Mango Habanero chicken.  

It combines the sweetness of mango with the spicy kick of habanero, a flavour combination described as “swicy”.

Available from 30 January 2025, the limited-time offering is the first major flavour innovation for El Pollo Loco in almost ten years. 

El Pollo Loco head of culinary innovation Chef Rene Pisciotti said: “After months of culinary development in our test kitchen, we are pleased to introduce this new vibrant Mango Habanero Sauce which perfectly balances the sweetness of mango purée with the fiery kick of habanero peppers.  

“This flavour combination amplifies our citrus-marinated, fire-grilled chicken.”

In addition to the new flavour, El Pollo Loco has been enhancing its value proposition with various promotions.  

It includes their two-for-$5 Taco Tuesday deal, the $5 Original Pollo Bowl and the introduction of Loco Friday Drops.  

These Friday specials offer a series of deals and giveaways, available exclusively to Loco Rewards Members until the end of 2025. 

Prices for Mango Habanero Chicken begin at $9.19 for a two-piece Individual Chicken Meal, which includes two small sides.  

An eight-piece Family Chicken Meal is available at $25.79 and comes with two large sides.  

Customers can order Mango Habanero Sauce as an extra side for dipping or drizzling over other favourite menu items.  

In December 2024, El Pollo Loco announced the return of its Double Pollo Fit Bowls to menus nationwide for a limited period.
