US-based catering marketplace ezCater has introduced a service for restaurant operators and caterers to connect with local third-party delivery partners.

Named ezDispatch, the service is intended to meet established standards required for business catering orders and to help restaurant operators grow their catering business.

EzCater catering practice leader Jim Rand said: “Catering orders are more complex than consumer orders. They’re bigger in size and value and the customer has different expectations. ezDispatch addresses those complexities, and it does so while maintaining the brand integrity of our partners.”

“It’s refreshing to find a partner that has the same high bar for service and experience that we do.”

Restaurants that do not have their own delivery service can use ezDispatch “on demand” to book delivery on a per-order basis, while those with their own delivery solutions can leverage the service to increase capacity whenever required.

Newk’s Eatery sales and catering director Steven Vastakis said: “ezDispatch has enabled us to take on a higher volume of catering orders than ever before.

“It’s refreshing to find a partner that has the same high bar for service and experience that we do. I know I can trust the drivers ezDispatch connects us with and I know my brand will be represented well.”

The service allows restaurant operators without catering operations to venture into a new business channel without needing to invest in a delivery fleet.

EzCater aims to offer the service to 100 markets by the end of the year. Currently, it has been made available in 50 markets including Chicago, Los Angeles, San Francisco, and Washington D.C.
