US-based food tech platform for workplaces ezCater has introduced a new public menu application programming interface (API) to enhance restaurant tech platforms and enable integration with catering services.
This technology is set to assist restaurants in syncing their menus and optimising catering operations.
The newly launched API allows menu management directly from middleware [a layer of software that enables interaction and transmission of information between assorted applications and services] or point-of-sale solutions that are integrated with ezCater.
This feature minimises manual input, reduces human error and expedites update times from days to just minutes.
ezCater chief technology officer Erin DeCesare stated: “At ezCater, we are committed to creating an integrated technology ecosystem to simplify catering operations for our restaurant partners.”
“Our new menu API sets the stage for an even more connected future where restaurants can run their catering operations seamlessly and continue to grow their business.”

By GlobalDataCheckmate, a provider of unified ordering solutions for enterprise restaurants, has become the inaugural partner to create an integration with ezCater’s latest offering.
Restaurant brands that use both Checkmate and ezCater get added benefit from this partnership as they can directly edit and update their catering menus through the Checkmate dashboard.
Among early adopters of this integration are Jet’s Pizza and Anthony’s Pizza & Pasta, which have already begun utilising the system for their catering menu management processes.
Checkmate founder and CEO Vishal Agarwal stated: “As restaurant operators invest more in catering, they need scaleable technology to grow this segment of their business faster.”
“We’re excited to be the first to integrate with ezCater’s menu API. With an average ezCater order value of more than $400, this integration helps our restaurant partners reduce manual effort, improve order accuracy and ultimately capture more of these large, valuable workplace food orders.”
In November 2024, Olo and its partner ezCater, revealed plans to launch a new menu integration to simplify catering menu management.
