Netherlands burger chain Fat Phill’s will make its UK debut in December 2024, introducing its premium Smash Burgers and American-style sandwiches to southwest London’s Clapham Junction.
The brand, established in 2019 by Armin Vahabian, has become the fastest-growing burger franchise in the Netherlands, with 18 locations up to autumn 2024.
Freshly Baked, the company responsible for Auntie Anne’s presence in the UK, recently finalised an agreement to develop and proliferate Fat Phill’s throughout the UK.
The Clapham Junction site marks the beginning of the ambitious expansion plan.
At the heart of Fat Phill’s menu are their smashed burgers: options include the Double Cheeseburger, the Big Belly – a quadruple burger with crispy bacon – and the Tamale Burger for those seeking a spicy kick.
The offering also includes the Philly Cheesesteak Sandwich and a selection of chicken burgers inspired by Nashville Hot Chicken, which can be customised with double or triple patties.
