AI-powered location platform Flybuy has introduced Smart Fire technology to automate order management and preparation for restaurants.

Smart Fire utilises advanced algorithms to automate the timing of order dispatch to the kitchen or counter, enhancing efficiency and customer satisfaction across in-store, kerbside and drive-through ordering.

The feature is accessible to all restaurants through the Flybuy partner and integration ecosystem.

Smart Fire’s algorithms optimise order flow by adjusting pickup times, based on the kitchen’s capacity, streamlining workflows and minimising customer wait times.

The integration of Smart Fire into a restaurant’s kitchen display system allows for orders to be prepared in the correct sequence of customer arrivals.

This leads to improved kitchen efficiency, faster service and reduced cognitive load on staff, enabling them to concentrate on preparing meals without disruptions.

Flybuy also claims that Smart Fire enhances the customer experience by providing real-time updates on the status of their orders. This keeps guests informed, reduces uncertainty and wait times, and ultimately leads to fresher food, less waste and customer loyalty and retention.

Saucy by KFC chief new concept officer Christophe Poirier stated: “Flybuy’s Smart Fire has been a true game-changer for us, allowing us to meet the demands of our customers efficiently and effectively. The automation and accuracy of order firing have significantly improved our operations and customer satisfaction, as it takes all guesswork away from staff, and empowers them to focus on the right order at the right time.”

In another instance of technology application, Sonny’s BBQ, a US-based barbecue restaurant brand, launched a new mobile experience in September 2024. This was done in collaboration with Thanx, Olo and Flybuy, aiming to improve off-premise dining options.
