Fogo de Chão, a restaurant chain specialising in southern Brazilian cuisine, has announced plans for expanding its footprint in the Chicago area with a new location in Orland Park.

Scheduled to open in 2025, the new outlet will complement the existing Chicago locations at Rosemont, Naperville, Oak Brook, Downtown Chicago, and a forthcoming location in Schaumburg.

The upcoming 6,791ft² Orland Park location will be situated at 15407 South La Grange Road, on Orland Park Place.

Designed to offer a social and engaging atmosphere, the new restaurant will incorporate Bar Fogo and dining spaces.

It will display its dry-aged meat lockers to guests, showcasing premium cuts such as the 32 oz Long-Bone Tomahawk Ribeye, aged for at least 42 days to enhance its flavour profile.

Harrison, an architectural and interior design firm, is collaborating with Fogo de Chão to create a restaurant centred around an open churrasco grill.

This feature will allow diners to observe the skillful gaucho chefs as they butcher, hand-carve and grill meats.

The restaurant menu will include the naturally gluten-free Market Table, offering a variety of seasonal salads, superfoods, and among others.

Fogo de Chão CEO Barry McGowan said: “Orland Park’s dynamic community and vibrant midwestern culture make it an ideal location for our next Chicagoland location.

“After being a part of the local community for over 22 years, we’re excited to open our fifth and sixth Chicago area locations and look forward to introducing guests to the culinary art of Churrasco in both Orland Park and Schaumburg soon.”

In February 2024, Fogo de Chão announced plans to open a new outlet in the US state of Maryland.

The 7,924ft² restaurant at 825 Dulaney Valley Road, Towson will be the chain’s fourth restaurant in the state and the second in the Baltimore area.
