Fogo de Chão, a restaurant chain specialising in southern Brazilian cuisine, has announced the opening of its ninth location in Brazil with a new venue at Shopping Tamboré in the city of São Paulo.

The move underscores the brand’s dedication to its Brazilian roots and its strategy for continued global expansion.

The brand’s expansion in Brazil complements its international growth strategy, which includes a capital-light franchise model aimed at accelerating its global reach.

This model supports Fogo de Chão’s long-term development plans and has been instrumental in its ability to scale up operations both within the US and internationally.

Fogo de Chão is known for its culinary art of churrasco, offering guests a dining experience where they can observe gaucho chefs expertly butcher, hand-carve and grill premium cuts of meat over an open flame.

The restaurant’s signature offerings also feature a fresh and seasonal Market Table, and the Bar Fogo menu with its hand-crafted cocktails and South American wines.

Fogo de Chão CEO Barry McGowan stated: “We are thrilled to expand our footprint in Brazil with our new location at Shopping Tamboré, bringing our rich culinary heritage to more guests in the region.

“Brazil is our home country, and opening a new location there always inspires excitement and appreciation for the brand’s rich heritage.”

Fogo de Chão’s ongoing plans for global growth include the recent international opening in Quito, Ecuador. The company plans to enter countries such as Bolivia, Costa Rica, El Salvador and the Philippines.
