Foodservice distributor Gordon Food Service has partnered with restaurant tech firm Toast to streamline the operations of restaurants in Canada.
As part of this partnership, Toast will serve as the preferred point-of-sale (POS) partner for Gordon Food Service Canada.
Toast International senior vice-president and general manager Jen DiRico said: “We see a clear opportunity for Toast and Gordon Food Service to work together to support the Canadian restaurant community.
“We’re proud to launch our first international channel partnership here in Canada with Gordon Food Service, a company that aligns closely with our mission to help restaurants do what they love and thrive.
“We serve thousands of restaurant locations globally and we’re excited to be just getting started in Canada, where we officially launched in April.”
The partnership will leverage the strengths of the two firms and offer a streamlined customer experience, access to technological solutions and other benefits.
Gordon Food Service Sales and Marketing senior director Joel Marsh said: “For nearly 30 years, we’ve delivered the solutions, products and expertise our customers need to design successful food operations and experiences.
“Partnering with Toast to provide our Canadian customers with access to the latest restaurant-led technologies is core to our approach as a high-tech and high-touch partner and furthers that mission of accelerating our customers’ success.”
Earlier this month, Toast introduced its new solution, Toast for Cafes & Bakeries.
The new Toast for Cafes & Bakeries solution is claimed to help businesses fast-track their service with quicker workflows and add new revenue streams.
Toast added that cafes, bakeries and other restaurant types can take advantage of the new features such as catering, online ordering and restaurant retail.
