FAT Brands, a restaurant company that owns 18 concepts, is opening five new Great American Cookies and Marble Slab Creamery locations in Texas in December 2024.

The openings are part of the co-branded pairing’s expansion, which has grown to 160 locations since 2014.

The new Texas locations will be Missouri City, New Caney, Lewisville, Sugarland and North Richland Hills.

Great American Cookies, known since 1977 for the Original Cookie Cake and its signature chocolate chip cookie recipe, offers desserts including brownies and Double Doozies. A Double Doozie consists of icing sandwiched between two cookies.

Marble Slab Creamery has been an innovator in the ice cream industry for four decades with its frozen slab technique and homemade, small-batch ice cream with free unlimited mix-ins, shakes and ice cream cakes.

Great American Cookies and Marble Slab Creamery president Allison Lauenstein said: “Texas continues to be a key area of growth for Great American Cookies and Marble Slab Creamery – in particular, the Dallas and Houston areas.”

“Our co-branded experience is integrated the moment you step in the door […] This cohesiveness has led to the model being highly popular — we see a 10% to 20% percent increase in incremental sales in co-branded locations — which is great for the bottom line for our franchisees.”

In November 2024, FAT Brands extended its reach with the opening of outlets for its other brands, including a Pretzelmaker store in Clear Lake, Iowa, in the US, and five new Fatburger and Buffalo’s Express restaurants in Mexico City.

In addition to expanding their physical presence, Great American Cookies and Marble Slab Creamery have introduced a new app and loyalty programme. The initiative allows customers to earn points and rewards for purchasing desserts, enhancing their engagement with the brands.
