Autogrill’s US-based highway and airport foodservice HMSHost has received a contract to serve as the exclusive food and beverage service supplier for American Airlines across North America for the next five years.
As part of the contract, the foodservice firm is responsible for serving 51 lounges in 25 airports including 24 in the US and one in Canada including American Airlines’ Flagship, Flagship First Dining and Admirals Club lounges.
HMSHost North America CEO Steve Johnson said: “Thinking big has constantly pushed HMSHost to innovate year after year, which is why we are so proud to be part of American Airlines’ experience and simultaneously keep contributing our skills in the airport food & beverage sector.
“We are glad American Airlines gave us this opportunity to enter a new business area and offer their customers with a unique pre-flight taste experience.”
Autogrill, through HMSHost, has already started executing the contract with American Airlines managing food and beverage services across its clubs and lounges this year.
The company now plans to complete the transition of all American Airlines airport clubs and lounges within the next few months.
