Stonegate Group has confirmed the re-opening of Intrepid Explorer, a local pub in Middlesborough, UK, scheduled for 26 July following a £144,000 renovation undertaken by Craft Union.
The investment has revitalised the establishment with a refreshed interior including a new dartboard area and an outdoor bar with a TV to enhance the garden space.
The renovation has transformed Intrepid Explorer with an uplifted décor.
In celebration of its re-opening, Intrepid Explorer is set to host a live music event on 2 August 2024.
Intrepid Explorer operator Ann-Marie Tate said: “I am thrilled to be re-opening the Intrepid Explorer this summer and unveiling its brand new look and feel.
“So much work has gone into breathing new life into the venue and making this pub one of Middlesborough’s finest. I am looking forward to welcoming back our familiar faces and new visitors.”

In July 2024 the Stonegate Group re-opened the Slug & Lettuce pub in Albert Square, Manchester, after a £646,000 refurbishment.
The renovation was part of a larger £2.6m investment across four Slug & Lettuce locations in the UK.
The Slug & Lettuce in Albert Square now features the brand’s signature flamingo pink and jungle green decor. New seating booths and marble tabletops further enhance the venue’s aesthetic.
The Albert Square venue joins the recently re-opened locations in Deansgate, Birmingham and Solihull, all of which underwent extensive refurbishments in 2024.
