American fast-food restaurant chain KFC is set to expand its menu with the introduction of five new saucy nuggets flavours and a dessert item, starting from 1 April, in its US outlets.

Priced at $5.99, customers can order 10 Saucy Nuggets, with one of the five sauce options.

The launch includes three new sauces and the return of two popular choices.

The new Honey Sriracha sauce offers a blend of red chili peppers, garlic, and honey, a combination of sweet and heat.

The Korean BBQ sauce, with its umami-rich profile, features soy sauce, garlic, sugar, and sesame.

The Sticky Chicky Sweet ‘n Sour Sauce provides a balance of sweet and tangy flavours, including pineapple, garlic, vinegar, and chili.

It is also bringing back the Nashville Hot and Georgia Gold sauces.

The Nashville Hot sauce, known for its smoky and spicy profile, was a trendsetter when KFC first introduced it nationwide in 2016.

The Georgia Gold sauce offers a honey-mustard BBQ taste with a tangy punch.

Additionally, KFC is introducing Apple Pie Poppers, a new dessert item priced at $2.49 for four, featuring apple pie filling encased in a buttery, flaky crust.

KFC US chief marketing officer Nick Chavez said: “KFC has never been so finger lickin’ good – literally. We’ve entered the sauce chat. Our KFC Nuggets – made from 100% white meat chicken and hand-breaded with KFC’s secret recipe of 11 herbs & spices – dripping with these sauces create an unmatched flavour experience, with something for every palate.”

The chain is offering 10-piece Saucy Nuggets to customers who spend $10 or more on a purchase through its website or the KFC app.

Last month, KFC announced the US debut of Chizza, a unique meal combining fried chicken fillets with classic pizza toppings like marinara sauce, mozzarella cheese, and pepperoni.
