UK-based Indian restaurant group Kricket is planning to expand its footprint in London, UK with the opening of new all-day dining venue in Shoreditch in late 2024.

The move comes ahead of Kricket’s planned opening of Canary Wharf location in London in September 2024.

With a seating capacity for 120 people, Kricket’s Shoreditch location will offer all-day dining. It will feature dishes such as Mangalorean smoked pork belly with burnt apple chutney, Keralan fried chicken with pickled mooli and curry leaf mayo, and chai financier with macerated cherries and elderflower, as reported by The Caterer.

This fifth London location will feature a private dining room, which can accommodate up to 18 guests.

Rik Campbell and Will Bowlby Campbell launched Kricket as a pop-up in a shipping container at Brixton in 2015 and opened their first permanent location in Soho the following year after receiving initial funding from White Rabbit Projects (WRP).

Campbell was quoted by the news agency as saying: “Kricket Shoreditch represents another step in the evolution of our brand. From menus to design, each location must offer something unique beyond just being a place to eat.

“In many respects it’s surreal how far we are from our humble beginnings in a shipping container in Pop Brixton. For us, it’s important to keep moving and stay current. We are keen to expand organically both at home and abroad.”

In December 2023, Kricket secured a third round of funding from WRP, alongside additional funds from the founders, to boost expansion plans in the UK.

The Kricket Canary Wharf restaurant will have 85 covers and be open for lunch and dinner, seven days a week.

It will be located next to the group’s second cocktail bar, Soma.
