Belgian bakery-café chain Le Pain Quotidien has signed a master franchise agreement with BeGreen to venture into the Paraguayan market.
The company operates 200 stores in 18 markets across the world, as reported by World Coffee Portal.
Founded in Brussels in 1990 by Alain Coumont, Le Pain Quotidien has been expanding in Latin America.
It currently operates 80 outlets across five countries in the region: Argentina, Brazil, Colombia, Mexico, and Uruguay. 16 of these were opened in 2024.
This recent expansion included four new outlets in Argentina, where it now has 39, and ten in Mexico, where it has 28.
The brand has also announced plans to launch in Peru by the second quarter of 2025 through a partnership with local franchisee Inversiones FISA.

Expansion to Paraguay is part of Le Pain Quotidien’s ongoing strategy to grow its footprint internationally.
The company has also signed master franchise agreements in Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan.
In July 2024, it signed a master franchise agreement with Sinteks Group to open new locations across Azerbaijan.
It is also poised to re-enter the Indian market through a deal with licensee Bake & Brew.
Le Pain Quotidien has 68 stores across nine European countries, 49 in the US, and a presence in Japan, the United Arab Emirates and Morocco.
