Hawaiian-themed restaurant chain L&L Hawaiian Barbecue has announced a partnership with full craft beverage platform Bortrista to expand its craft beverage menu.

The collaboration introduces two signature drinks, Lilikoi Lemonade and the Lilikoi Smoothie, at select locations.

The enhanced menu features boba teas such as classic, taro, matcha and strawberry, and fruit smoothie options taro, strawberry and pineapple-coconut.

Lilikoi Lemonade is described as naturally sweet, tart and zesty.

The Lilikoi Smoothie is a smooth, sweet and creamy beverage with traditional Hawaiian flavours.

The launches capitalise on the growing market for boba tea and lemonade by expanding the chain’s drink offerings while ensuring quick preparation times and maintaining quality.

Sold at select live locations, L&L Hawaiian Barbecue reported achieving already a run rate of 100,000 Botrista drinks sold per year.

L&L Hawaiian Barbecue CEO Elisa Flores said: “At L&L, we are proud to bring the comfort food of Hawaii to our guests. Our new drink menu offers our guests trending drinks that complement the style and flavours of our menu.

“By partnering with Botrista, we are able to provide customers with exceptional beverages while also ensuring that our franchisees drive increased profitability.”

Botrista CEO Sean Hsu said: “In today’s competitive landscape, data-driven decision-making paired with culinary creativity is essential for restaurant brands that are focused on staying ahead of the latest consumer trends — and in turn, providing value to their franchisees.

“Our team worked closely with the L&L team to develop a beverage menu that would both delight their guests and be easy for franchisees to implement.

“Using the BotristaPro, L&L franchisees can serve made-to-order craft drinks in under 20 seconds, at the touch of a button, within a five square foot space.”

In October 2023, L&L Hawaiian Barbecue opened a new restaurant in Boulder, Colorado.

The venue, co-owned by Matt Coty and Jazmin Brooks, can accommodate 200 guests.
