McDonald’s is set to expand its Classics range in the US from 30 January with the addition of two new burgers and cheesy fries with bacon to its menu.
Available for a limited time at participating restaurants, the new offerings include the Big Mac Bacon burger, the Quarter Pounder Bacon burger and cheesy bacon fries.
Big Mac Bacon contains three pieces of Applewood-smoked bacon, two beef burgers, lettuce, cheese, pickles, sauce and onions, which are served on a sesame seed bun.
The Quarter Pounder Bacon burger contains three pieces of Applewood-smoked bacon, while the Cheesy Bacon Fries features McDonald’s fries topped with cheddar cheese sauce and smoked bacon bits.
McDonald’s culinary innovation manager chef Michael Haracz said: “People love bacon, and they love our iconic Big Mac, fresh beef Quarter Pounder burgers and world-famous fries, so we had to see what would happen if we combined all that tastiness.
“As a bacon enthusiast myself, I’m proud to say that we’ve done right by bacon fans and I can’t wait for our customers to try these classics with delicious, thick cut Applewood-smoked bacon for themselves.”
