McDonald’s is set to introduce the Chicken Big Mac to its menu across all participating locations in the US on 10 October 2024.

The fast-food giant said that its new addition will be available for a limited time and while supplies last.

The company added that Chicken Big Mac is a twist on the classic Big Mac, featuring two tempura-battered chicken patties instead of the traditional all-beef patties while retaining the same familiar toppings.

McDonald’s USA chief marketing and customer experience officer Tariq Hassan said: “With the introduction of the Chicken Big Mac, we’re excited to pay homage to one of our most iconic menu items, the Big Mac, and introduce it to a whole new generation of fans

“By tapping into some of our fans’ biggest passions from dupe culture to live-streaming, we’re able to serve up more than just a sandwich.

“There truly is something for everyone to enjoy in this campaign and we’re bringing experiences that will surprise and delight them, all before the Chicken Big Mac hits restaurants.”

Last month, McDonald’s announced that it will launch a new kiosk format in the US that will accept cash, a development that could considerably change customer interactions and enhance operational efficiency.

The digital ordering stations, which are also capable of dispensing change, are designed to reduce queues at cash registers.

The new model is available in only a limited number of restaurants, which could further lessen the dependence on cashiers.

Behind the counter, screens that usually show the complete menu will now highlight specific items, encouraging customers to use the kiosk or McDonald’s mobile app to place their orders.
