Global fast food chain McDonald’s is testing a range of international menu items sourced from worldwide locations at 50 restaurants across South Florida.
The menu items featured under this pilot are a part of the company’s flavours from abroad promotion and include BBQ McShaker fries from Malaysia, McSpicy chicken from Hong Kong, the Grand McExtreme bacon burger from Spain and the stroopwafel McFlurry from the Netherlands.
The Grand McExtreme bacon burger is a blend of a beef quarter pound burger topped with McBacon sauce, applewood smoked bacon, gouda cheese and slivered onions served on a sesame seed bun. It is available as a single or a double quarter pound patty.
BBQ McShaker fries feature the chain’s famous fries served with a smoky BBQ seasoning, while McSpicy chicken is made using a crispy chicken fillet marinated with spicy seasoning, topped with mayo and lettuce.
Stroopwafel McFlurry is a soft serve ice cream mixed with caramel waffle cookie pieces and caramel sauce.
McDonald’s Miami franchise owner Stefanie Cabrera-Bentancourt said: “We’re excited for our South Florida customers to have an opportunity to taste the international menu items for a limited time.
“We look forward to hearing our customers’ feedback on these global-inspired food items.”
The restaurant chain is also offering the flavours from abroad promotional test menu items to customers through its McDelivery via Uber Eats at participating restaurants.
