McLane Foodservice has agreed to terminate its restaurant distribution partnership with US-based fast-food restaurant chain Popeyes Louisiana Kitchen from July this year.

The company offers supply chain services to Popeyes restaurants across southern California, Arizona and southern Nevada. Ending the partnership is expected to serve the financial and operational needs of both companies in these geographic markets.

Following the termination, McLane subsidiary Kinexo will continue to be an exclusive redistribution partner for Popeyes across the US.

“Ending the partnership is expected to serve the financial and operational needs of both companies.”

McLane will also continue to serve as a primary distributor to Burger King, which is owned by Popeyes’ parent company Restaurant Brands International.

Based in New Orleans, Popeyes currently operates more than 2,600 restaurants worldwide. It offers a range of menu choices, including spicy chicken, chicken strips and fried shrimp.

McLane operates more than 80 distribution centres across the US and employs around 20,000 associates through its McLane Grocery and McLane Foodservice arms.
