Middleby has purchased Powerhouse Dynamics, a provider of Cloud-based internet of things (IoT) solutions for foodservice firms.
Based in Massachusetts, Powerhouse Dynamics offers solutions for the restaurant industry through its SiteSage platform.
The software allows restaurant operators to automate their facility to save energy, improve food safety, reduce labour costs, and increase operational consistency by connecting, monitoring and controlling their equipment footprint.
The platform is currently being used by various restaurants and other retail brands.
Middleby CEO Tim FitzGerald said: “This acquisition significantly enhances Middleby’s IoT capabilities and expands the offerings to our customers as they evolve the management of their operations through remote, connected and data-driven solutions.
“SiteSage complements our existing Middleby Connect IoT platform, which is available on many of our existing equipment technologies facilitating our customers with menu management, servicing of equipment and operational monitoring.

In another development, Middleby has completed an acquisition of Cooking Solutions Group from Standex International.
This deal was originally signed in February this year with Standex International.
