Indian restaurant brand Arsalan has announced the launch of a new outlet in Rajouri Garden, Delhi, as reported by ET Hospitality.  

Founded on 6 October 2002, the Mughlai cuisine brand operates 12 outlets in Kolkata and has an international presence in Dubai.

Arsalan CEO Raghib Parwez was quoted by the news agency as saying: “We are thrilled to bring Arsalan to Delhi’s food lovers. Delhi has a deep appreciation for authentic royal flavours and we are excited to share the taste of Mughlai heritage with the capital.

The menu offered at the new outlet includes slow-cooked chicken and mutton biryanis, kebabs and curries inspired by traditional Mughlai recipes.  

The new restaurant’s interior reflects elements of Mughal-era aesthetics while incorporating modern elements.

In October 2024, the Calcutta High Court issued an interim order, effective until November 26, after the owners of the hotel chain filed a case against service providers using names identical to the Arsalan trademark. 

The court observed that certain restaurants and service providers were using the name, including variations such as A1 Arsalan Biryani, with the intent to mislead consumers and create confusion in the market. 

Justice Rao stated that modifying the Arsalan name with prefixes or suffixes could mislead the public into believing that these restaurants were connected to the plaintiff’s business.
