Restaurant Brands International’s Tim Hortons has appointed Naira Saeed as its new chief operating officer (COO), responsible for overseeing restaurant, field operations and franchising along with development across Canada.
Saeed, who joined the company in 2017, succeeds Matt Moore in the role.
She will report to Tim Hortons Canada and US president Axel Schwan.
Schwan stated: “I want to thank Matt Moore, who is leaving for a new opportunity. Matt has worked closely with our field teams and restaurant owners on many fronts, including strengthening operational performance in the important morning and dinner dayparts. We wish him all the best.”
Saeed’s career began in capital markets, including a tenure at the Bank of Canada, before she transitioned to become the finance head of Tim Hortons.
Since 2017, she has led teams within the company, focusing on restaurant operations and franchisee profitability.
Schwan added: “I’m very excited to see all her experience come together to excel in this very important role, including the exciting development opportunities we have in many communities across Canada.”
The first Tim Hortons restaurant opened in 1964 in Hamilton, Ontario and its menu features iconic Original Blend coffee, Double-Double coffees, Donuts and Timbits.
