South Africa-based multinational quick service restaurant (QSR) chain Nando’s has established a joint venture (JV) with India’s food service company K Hospitality to strengthen its presence in the country.

The JV intends to launch 150 new restaurants across Indian cities up to 2033.

The two companies initially plan to open a new outlet in Hyderabad, Telangana, in May to June 2024 – the brand’s debut in the city.

ETHospitalityWorld.com quoted K Hospitality executive director Karan Kapur: “As brands and businesses, both partners have a lot in common, which not only includes an insatiable taste for Nando’s signature flame-grilled Peri-Peri chicken but also an equally strong passion for hospitality and people. We look forward to scaling up Nando’s presence across multiple cities in India over the coming decade.”

Nando’s, which was founded in Johannesburg in 1987, currently operates more than 1,200 restaurants across 22 countries and five continents.

The company’s speciality is the flame-grilled Peri-Peri style chicken.
