Restaurant technology solution provider Olo has partnered FreedomPay to expedite the adoption of in-restaurant payments in the US. 

The collaboration will strengthen Olo’s existing partnership with Stripe, a platform that offers financial infrastructure for businesses, by incorporating in-person transaction processing capabilities.

Olo Pay, which was launched in 2022 with Stripe as its digital payments partner, will be upgraded to deliver an omnichannel solution that unifies both digital and in-person payment experiences. 

Olo will be able to speed up the processing of card-present transactions by leveraging FreedomPay’s payment gateway, which is compatible with various systems and integrated with more than 1,000 point-of-sale (POS) and payment solutions.  

Olo Pay can utilise Stripe’s payment processing for in-person POS transactions, supporting more than 700 of its restaurant clients and extending the benefits of Olo Pay’s digital payment platform to customers. 

By combining Olo Pay with FreedomPay’s commerce platform, Olo will provide enterprise brands with more flexibility in processing in-store payments into their systems.

Brands can choose to integrate directly through one of Olo Pay’s card-present partnerships announced in 2024, or can opt for integration via FreedomPay.  

Similarly to the POS partnerships, linking FreedomPay and Stripe will allow brands to connect Olo Pay’s card-present solution with Olo Engage, the guest engagement suite of the company.  

This integration will consolidate both digital and in-store transactions into a unified guest data profile, offering tailored guest experiences and enhanced, data-driven decision-making.
