Papa Johns has announced the comeback for a limited period of its Shaq-a-Roni pizza, a product crafted in collaboration with basketball icon and franchisee Shaquille O’Neal.

The extra-large Shaq-a-Roni pizza is topped with extra cheese and more than 60 pepperonis, served on Papa Johns’ signature fresh dough.

The initiative, which marks its fifth anniversary in the autumn of 2024, is about giving back to the community.

For every Shaq-a-Roni sold at participating locations, $1 will be donated to the Papa Johns Foundation.

Shaq-a-Roni pizza is available first to Papa Rewards members from 14 October 2024 and then to all customers from 21 October at a price of $12.99.

Since its inception, the pizza sales have raised $13.1m for a range of causes. $4m has been invested since 2021 through the Building Community Fund programme that aids the local community efforts of the franchisees.
