Integrated payments technology company Payroc has joined forces with sunday, a restaurant tech company, to introduce a handheld payment terminal solution to the US dining scene.

The collaboration is set to streamline the payment process for restaurants, offering diners a swift and seamless checkout experience at their tables.

sunday’s PAX A920 Pro payment terminal, powered by Payroc’s technology, is engineered to meet the demands of contemporary dining establishments.

Servers can present bills, suggest tips intelligently and process payments at the table.

The terminals are compatible with cards and mobile wallets such as Google Pay and Apple Pay, and offer features such as bill splitting and the choice between digital or printed receipts.

Payroc integrated payments executive director Conn Byrne stated: “By partnering with sunday to power its handheld payment terminal solution, we’re building on sunday’s proven success in the EU market to redefine operational efficiency and guest satisfaction in the US.

“This partnership sets a new standard for pay-at-table technology, transforming dining for restaurants and their patrons”.

These terminals are equipped with Payroc Cloud, allowing for easy setup and remote management capabilities.

Secure tokens protect guest data by converting sensitive information into unique identifiers.

Payroc Cloud facilitates app switching to seamlessly integrate with existing systems, enriching the overall experience for partners, merchants and customers.

sunday US CEO Christine de Wendel said: “At sunday, our mission is to make payments effortless and elevate hospitality for guests across the US.

“With the addition of a handheld payment terminal in partnership with Payroc, and the power of Payroc Cloud, we’re giving our restaurant partners intuitive tools that enable faster, personalised guest interactions and modern commerce innovations, ultimately enhancing both guest satisfaction and operational efficiency.”

Success stories include a Greek seafood eatery in Atlanta which reported that servers saw a 10% increase in average tips and quicker table turnover rates after using the devices, which enabled them to accommodate more patrons efficiently.

The adoption of the payment solution also notably enhanced curbside service at a casual American diner in Indianapolis where curbside tips then rose 12%.
