US-based Chinese fast-casual restaurant chain Pei Wei Asian Kitchen has unveiled a lighter menu with new dishes for health-conscious diners.

Launched on 12 March 2025, it features two Protein Bowls: one with Chicken, Avocado and Broccoli, and the other with Chicken, Shrimp and Veggies, along with a signature Grilled Chicken Salad and a Thai Basil Chicken entrée.

While classic staples such as Firecracker Chicken and Mongolian Steak remain, Pei Wei aims to offer guests diverse lifestyle menu options.

The Chicken, Avocado & Broccoli Protein Bowl, offering 38g of protein, combines grilled chicken breast, avocado slices and steamed broccoli on a bed of brown rice, drizzled with citrus vinaigrette.

The Chicken, Shrimp & Veggies Protein Bowl combines chicken and shrimp, complemented by steamed broccoli, carrots and onions in a white wine sauce and served on brown rice, offering 42g of protein.

The new Signature Grilled Chicken Salad features sliced grilled chicken breast mixed with greens, jicama, carrots and tortilla strips in a citrus vinaigrette. Each serving contains 310 calories.

The Thai Basil Chicken consists of steamed chicken, red bell peppers, onions, and Thai basil, all coated in a hoisin sauce with spice.

It is featured in the new low-calorie entrée section, with each serving containing 230 calories.

Pei Wei Asian Kitchen marketing vice-president Laura Purser stated: “Many guests don’t realise just how many light and low-calorie options we offer.”

“We’re putting an Asian spin on lighter and active lifestyle meals while keeping the bold flavours our guests love.”
