Fried chicken restaurant brand Popeyes is set to open its maiden location in Glasgow, Scotland, later this year, according to a report by The Herald.

Scheduled to open at Barrhead’s retail park, the new venue will feature a drive-through facility. It will be the brand’s 12th store opening so far this year and 29th since its inception in the UK in 2021.

The publication quoted Popeyes UK chief executive Tom Crowley as saying: “We are thrilled to announce that Popeyes will be opening in Scotland for the first time later this year.

“Opening restaurants in Scotland has been key for us since we first landed in the UK, and we’re looking forward to opening across the country, starting with a drive-through in Barrhead.
