US-based sandwich shop chain Port of Subs has signed a 30-unit development deal in Sacramento, California.

The brand signed the agreement with entrepreneurs Michelle and Robert Lucas.

Michelle Lucas said: “Port of Subs resonates deeply with communities for its strong commitment to excellence and customer satisfaction.

“These core values drew Robert and me to the brand, and as we became more familiar with the business model and met the impressive leadership team, we knew this was the brand we wanted to be part of.

“We see tremendous potential for Port of Subs in Sacramento and are confident that these new locations will be a welcome addition to the community.”

The deal is set to enhance Port of Subs’ presence in California with the launch of new locations across the greater Sacramento region.

This will lead to the opening of new Port of Subs’ venues in cities such as Rocklin and Rancho Cordova. Key areas targeted for new outlets also include Auburn, Roseville and Elk Grove.

The first is expected to open its doors in early 2025.

Port of Subs has already established a presence on the West Coast, where it is known as a neighbourhood sandwich shop.

The brand currently has 230 new units in development.

Area 15 Ventures acquired Port of Subs in April 2023.

The investment by Area 15 was led by Dave Liniger, co-founder and chairman of the RE/MAX real estate franchise.
