Canada-based restaurant chain Quesada Burritos & Tacos has announced a new collaboration with Canadian soccer player Julia Grosso to launch the new Julia’s Fiesta Futbol menu.

The new limited-edition menu features Grosso’s favourite taco and burrito and is available across all Quesada Burritos & Tacos locations from 26 June.

The company said that the launch of this menu leads up to Grosso’s participation in the global soccer tournament for women.

Born in British Columbia, Julia Grosso is known for scoring the goal in a penalty shootout against Sweden in 2020, allowing her to clinch the gold medal for Canada.

Grosso said: “My partnership with Quesada embraces my love of fresh, delicious Mexican burritos & tacos that are my favourite way to fuel up after a game! It also supports my goal to connect with more Canadians to spread the joy of soccer!”

The burrito and taco items are made using fresh ingredients such as grilled chicken, homemade chipotle salsa, fresh veggies, queso cheese and shredded cheddar.

On the match days, the restaurant chain said, customers can “score a C0.99¢ taco” or even get a free taco when Canada wins. The first match is scheduled to take place on 20 July.

Foodtastic Marketing director Shalin Shah said: “Julia Grosso is a soccer phenom and true role model. We are honoured to collaborate with her.

“Our guests are huge fans and we’re delighted to be able to enrich their experience by supporting their love of the game in communities across the country as part of a longer term commitment to soccer.”

Quesada Burritos & Tacos was founded in 2004 and currently operates more than 190 restaurants in eight Canadian provinces.

It was acquired by Canadian restaurant brands franchisor Foodtastic in December last year.
