US-based sandwich restaurant chain Quiznos has expanded its menu with the addition of Kimchi Philly and Classic Philly.
Kimchi is a staple Korean dish prepared with salted, seasoned and fermented cabbage.
The sandwich chain noted that its Kimchi Philly is topped with spicy Korean gochujang sauce, tangy kimchi, American cheese, sautéed green peppers, onions and toasted artisan bread.
The Classic Philly features a thin-sliced steak, melted white American cheese, sautéed green peppers, onions and banana peppers on toasted artisan bread.
Quiznos culinary and innovation vice-president Mike Gieseman said: “Ever since we began tapping into the brand’s heritage a few years ago, we’ve been in a new era of culinary innovation where we continue to push boundaries with our creative new menu items.
“Inspired by global flavours, the Kimchi Philly – our most recent example of that innovation – is a unique sandwich that will satisfy the cravings of adventurous eaters who are looking for unexpected flavours.”
Both the Kimchi Philly and Classic Philly sandwiches are now available at participating Quiznos restaurants in the US.
In February 2020, REGO Restaurant Group announced its plan to expand the Quiznos restaurant brand footprint in Latin America.
Under a 20-store development deal, Quiznos plans to open five new restaurants in Costa Rica, Honduras, Nicaragua, Panama and El Salvador.
