Enterprise management solutions provider Restaurant365 has acquired ExpandShare, a learning management system provider specialising in the restaurant industry.
Financial terms of the deal have not been disclosed.
Following the acquisition, ExpandShare’s technology will be integrated into Restaurant365’s operations.
Established in 2012 by Eric Harsh, ExpandShare offers a mobile platform designed to streamline managerial tasks by making training resources readily accessible to restaurant staff whenever and wherever needed.
The platform’s AI-driven course builder, a marketplace of ready-to-use courses and templates, and multi-language support, enable managers to create custom learning paths and translate them into more than 80 languages.
Restaurant365 co-founder and CEO Tony Smith said: “Guest satisfaction is paramount to restaurant success, and the main driver for both is capable employees who carry a strong company culture to customers.

By GlobalData“We’re thrilled to offer this invaluable learning tool to the 40,000 locations we serve, and we’re confident that adding best-in-class training to our one-of-a-kind back-office system will allow leaders to holistically grow their business in a way the industry has never seen.”
The system currently integrates with more than 70 restaurant technology providers and is used by hospitality brands across the nation, including Starbird, Newk’s Eatery, and Marco’s Pizza.
Its user-friendly interface, automated processes, and comprehensive content libraries simplify the training process.
ExpandShare founder Eric Harsh said: “We’re grateful to join Restaurant365 in its mission to integrate and streamline restaurant workforce management, alongside accounting and store operations, on a single platform.
“We’ve seen the importance of labour investment and development in recent years and are excited to help restaurants further strengthen their teams, operations, and bottom lines.”
In May 2023, Restaurant365 secured $135m in a funding round co-led by investment firms KKR and L Catterton.
The company said that it will utilise the investment to enhance its product offerings, focusing on accounting, store operations, workforce, and intelligence suites, and to expand its market share.
