Slim Chickens has signed a new multi-unit deal with Slims Southern Boys, a multi-unit operating franchisee, to expand its presence in Alabama and Georgia, US.

The agreement will result in the opening of four or more Slim Chickens outlets across Russell, Coweta, Carroll, and Troup counties.

The move is part of the American fast-casual restaurant chain’s broader growth strategy.

The company already operates more than 265 locations in the US and the UK, with more than 1,200 signed agreements in the pipeline.

Led by Johnny Griggs, Slims Southern Boys has a 35-year track record of owning and operating businesses, including 11 convenience stores, two Culver’s, and 15 Firehouse Subs in Alabama and Georgia.

The franchisee will open its first Slim Chickens location in Russell County in early 2025.

Slim Chickens is known for its 17 house-made dipping sauces, offering customers a variety of flavour profiles.

The brand’s menu includes chicken tenders, fresh salads, sandwiches, chicken and waffles, chicken wings, and unique side items.

Furthermore, Slim Chickens has reported a 70% restaurant growth over the past three years and has seen substantial expansion over the last five years.

The company is also targeting several markets across the US, including Ohio, Illinois, Pennsylvania, Virginia, New York, and Massachusetts, as well as international markets in Europe, Asia, and beyond.

Slim Chickens franchise development vice president Jackie Lobdell said: “Slims Southern Boys is an ideal operator to expand Slims’ footprint throughout Alabama and Georgia.

“Their decades of experience in the restaurant industry owning and operating multi-unit locations in Alabama give them the aptitude needed to extend Slims in their market.

“Our team is thrilled to collaborate and celebrate Slims Southern Boys’ growth and success and are looking forward to seeing their passion for service, good food, and people develop in the years to come.”
