US-based Smoothie King has announced plans to expand its operations with the opening of 34 new stores.
In the second quarter of 2024, the US-based company opened 18 new locations in Colorado, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Maryland, Massachusetts, New York, Tennessee, Texas and Wisconsin.
Rapper 2 Chainz, in partnership with Smoothie King franchisee Philip Jones, opened Smoothie King kiosk inside Atlanta’s State Farm Arena in June 2024.
Smoothie King is also expanding into non-traditional locations, with a new store set to open in Terminal A of the Dallas Fort Worth International Airport in July 2024.
The majority of the new store commitments for the quarter have come from existing franchisees.
These commitments will see Smoothie King entering new markets such as Grand Rapids, Michigan, and Toledo, Ohio, with plans to open six units in Grand Rapids and five in Toledo.
