Global foodservice and facilities management company Sodexo has acquired Switzerland-based high-end catering services firm Novae Restauration to expand its footprint in the country.

As part of the deal, Sodexo Switzerland will benefit from Novae Restauration’s premium catering services to grow its position in the German and Swiss markets, as well as support the development of its fully integrated services.

The merged business will also focus on cross-selling and development across German and French-speaking markets.

Novae Restauration will continue to operate under the same name and retain its operational management team to focus on growth across the corporate, institutional and educational sectors.

“Novae has built an admirable reputation locally, based on values and experiences that are aligned with Sodexo’s.”

Sodexo has also appointed Christian Volmerange as the managing director of Novae Restauration, effective immediately.

Novae Restauration CEO Maxime Ballanfat will support Volmerange over the next six months to lead the team and business.

Sodexo Group CEO Denis Machuel said: “Novae has built an admirable reputation locally, based on values and experiences that are aligned with Sodexo’s. Food is at the heart of our Quality of Life solutions for clients and consumers, and we are proud to sustainably grow our business in Switzerland with a partner committed to delivering personalised, healthy and innovative premium food services.”

Established in 2003, Novae currently serves a network of more than 80 clients.
