Sodexo has launched a restaurant called Kitchen Works Co to serve employees in manufacturing and data centre environments.
Sodexo redesigned its main restaurant at Burnaston to create the Kitchen Works Co concept. The location features an improved lay-out, digital screens, new furniture and a new menu, and is expected to serve 2,600 workers.
Developed using consumer insights, the new concept will also feature a dining space to offer a range of food choices such as global cuisine, plant-based items and a new grab-and-go range to employees working at the location.
Menu items offered at the restaurant include sausages and mash, Chipotle glazed belly pork with gratin potatoes and sautéed courgettes, and chicken katsu curry and rice.
Sodexo UK and Ireland corporate services marketing manager James Mundy said: “Kitchen Works Co takes its inspiration from modern quick service restaurants with a home-from-home feel.
“It has been created to provide a mix of familiar favourites with more aspirational dishes in a relaxing environment.

By GlobalData“With sustainability a key concern for many we are pleased that our chefs will be using ‘wonky’ fruit and veg which not only allows them to be inspired by in-season produce but enables them to use their creativity and culinary skill to create some delicious dishes for the Burnaston workforce.”
Purchasing at Toyota senior manager Christine Cooke said: “We are delighted with our new Kitchen Works Co restaurant which will vastly improve the employee experience for our colleagues at Burnaston.
It is critical we attract and retain talent at this key manufacturing base for us and giving them access to great, healthy food, in a nice environment and in a way that allows them to maximise their downtime is a vital part of that mix.”
Last month, the French food services company reported a 7.3% increase in revenues, totalling €11.04bn, for the first half of 2019 ending 28 February this year.
