Sonic Drive-In, a drive-in fast-food restaurant chain owned by Inspire Brands, has expanded its dessert menu with the introduction of the OREO Big Scoop Cheesecake Sundae and Blast.
The new variants are now available across all US locations of the company for a limited time.
Sonic noted that the new offerings cater to cheesecake enthusiasts, featuring OREO cookie pieces and a large scoop of OREO cheesecake atop a vanilla soft serve base.
The OREO Big Scoop Cheesecake Sundae is priced from $3.99, and the Blast starts at $4.99 for a medium size.
Both desserts combine the classic flavours of vanilla soft serve, with the taste of cheesecake and the OREO cookie pieces.
In a related news, Baskin-Robbins, which is also owned by Inspire Brands company, has launched its own new flavour, Marigold Dreamsicle.
This ice cream blends marigold and vanilla bean ice creams with an orange swirl, incorporating marigold blossoms to achieve a floral note.
SONIC Culinary & Menu Innovation vice-president Mackenzie Gibson said: “Whether our guests are looking for something sweet to pair with their cheeseburger and tots or simply a late-night treat, these craveable new desserts are perfect for OREO lovers.
“SONIC is already a go-to destination for innovative and delicious frozen treats, but this unique offer takes our dessert game to the next level.”
In January this year, SONIC added Peanut Butter Bacon SuperSONIC Double Cheeseburger and the Peanut Butter Bacon Shake to its menu.
The Peanut Butter Bacon SuperSONIC Double Cheeseburger features two 100% pure beef patties with creamy peanut butter and crispy bacon, grilled onions and melted cheese in a toasted bun.
The Peanut Butter Bacon Shake is a dessert beverage combining peanut butter and bacon with vanilla soft serve and finished with whipped topping and a cherry.
