Global food and beverage (F&B) outlet operator SSP has secured a seven-year contract to operate its first units at Vilnius Airport in Lithuania.

The company plans to introduce six new units at the Baltic travel hub, with operations of the first unit expected to commence next year.

The new agreement will allow SSP to leverage its existing resources in Estonia and establish operations in the Nordics.

Its portfolio will include a mix of its brands, the international franchise Burger King, and a new concept for Lithuania called Vilnius Bar & Bistro – Le Grand Comptoir.

The menu offerings are designed to cater to both local travellers, who represent 80% of the airport’s passengers, and international visitors.

Vilnius Bar & Bistro – Le Grand Comptoir is located landside and will offer an authentic taste of Lithuania alongside international dishes.

This outlet is inspired by Art Deco and draws influence from Vilnius and Lithuania.

Factory Bar and Kitchen will accommodate solo diners and families with ample seating across two floors.

Responding to the craft brewery trend in the country, it will feature ten draft beverages and 20 bottled options.

SSP Nordics CEO Bente Brevik said: “We’re delighted to be a part of the exciting project at Vilnius Airport to elevate the passenger experience. It’s a testament to the hard work and know-how of our teams that Lithuanian Airports has decided to partner with us for these new F&B outlets.”

Lithuanian Airports chief commercial officer Gintarė Norvilaitė-Tautevičė said: “Having seen first-hand the quality of SSP’s operations at many of the world’s leading airports, we’re certain that the food and beverage offering coming to Vilnius will enhance the experience of passengers travelling to and from the city.

“As we enter an exciting phase of redevelopment at Vilnius Airport, SSP’s ability to provide a brand mix and concepts that capture the charm and vibrancy of Lithuania with menus that appeal to our broad passenger base stands us in good stead as we move to this next chapter in our history.”
