Stonegate Group has reopened the Castle pub in Bangor, Wales after overhauling the venue with a six-figure investment.

The refurbishment boosts the pub’s amenities without compromising its historic character.

Located directly opposite the cathedral at the heart of Bangor, the Castle’s interiors have been upgraded with contemporary touches, including energy-efficient LED lighting throughout the premises.

The investment extends to technological advancements, with the installation of an audio-visual system.

The pub now offers five booths, each equipped with high-definition televisions, providing a private and enhanced viewing experience for guests.

In addition to physical improvements, its beverage offerings have been expanded. The city centre pub now serves a diverse selection of craft and world beers, ciders and cocktails.

The pub has also introduced an extensive range of no and low-alcohol beverages, catering to a wider range of customer preferences.

The Castle general manager Sarah Hudson said: “These renovations align with Stonegate Group’s commitment to keep improving and innovating, meaning we can give our guests the best possible experience at our pub.

“Our goal with this investment is to make our pub the ultimate destination for sports fans in Bangor. With a wide range of HD screens and great food and drink at competitive prices, we’re offering the best matchday experience in the area.

“We are a proud part of the Bangor community, and our Welsh heritage is on display throughout the Castle. We’re especially looking forward to welcoming students back this month, with plenty of exciting events planned!”

The investment has also contributed to the local economy by creating two new jobs.

In July 2024, Stonegate Group reopened the Slug and Lettuce pub in Albert Square, Manchester.
