Fast food restaurant company Subway has enhanced its menu with the addition of freshly sliced meats at its restaurants in the US.
The brand invested more than $80m in deploying deli meat slicers across its 20,000 locations in the US.
Subway previously used pre-sliced meats delivered by its factories.
To highlight its foray into the freshly sliced meat space, the restaurant expanded its Subway Series menu with the Deli Heroes category, which it says is a collection of the ultimate deli subs.
This category comprises four subs: Titan Turkey, Grand Slam Ham, Garlic Roast Beef and The Beast.
Titan Turkey and Grand Slam Ham claim to have 33% higher meat content than traditional subs.

The brand called the introduction of freshly sliced meats one of its most complex changes, saying it spent more than two years preparing for this launch.
Subway North America president Trevor Haynes said: “Over the past two years, we overhauled our expansive pantry of ingredients and debuted a whole new way to Subway with chef-crafted signature sandwiches. These major changes led to rave reviews from our guests and record-breaking sales.
“This year’s changes are even bigger and more transformational. The addition of freshly sliced meats is the most impactful yet as it gives our guests a better sandwich – raising the bar even higher for the brand that defined fresh.”
