American fast-casual chain Sweetgreen has launched Ripple Fries, claiming to be the first national brand to serve such fries.
Ripple Fries are air-fried in avocado oil and made without seed oils from russet potatoes then seasoned with a mix of salt and herbs.
They can be served with either of two new signature house-made sauces – Garlic Aioli and Pickle Ketchup.
The company launched Ripple Fries after a successful test run on the menu in Los Angeles. This follows the launch of caramelised garlic steak and air-fried maple-glazed Brussels sprouts in 2024.
Sweetgreen culinary head Chef Chad Brauze stated: “Creating the perfect French fry is both an art and a science.
“We know people love crispy, flavourful fries, so we set out to craft the best un-fried version possible. Ripple Fries deliver the perfect balance of crunch and flavour — great for dipping, snacking or pairing with any Sweetgreen order.”
Ripple Fries are now available at all the brand’s outlets across the US. Customers can place an order by visiting a local restaurant or through Sweetgreen’s website or app.
Sweetgreen co-founder and chief concept officer Nicolas Jammet said: “At Sweetgreen, we’re on a mission to transform fast food so that it’s not just quick and craveable, but also made with high-quality ingredients and thoughtful cooking methods. Ripple Fries are a perfect example of this shift.
“We took an iconic fast food staple and reimagined it with simplicity, flavour and no seed oils. This launch is another step forward in redefining what fast food can be.”
