
Taco Bell has introduced an addition to its chalupa [boat-shaped taco] offerings with the launch of Toasted Cheddar Street Chalupas, combining a cheddar-infused shell with Chile Lime Crema Sauce.
The latest innovation, which merges elements from the 2019 Toasted Cheddar Chalupa and 2024’s Cheesy Street Chalupa, is now available across the US for $5.49.
The chalupa shell is baked with a layer of mild cheddar to complement the onions and cilantro (coriander).
Customers can choose between slow-roasted Cantina chicken or grilled, marinated steak.
Chile Lime Crema Sauce combines lime, chile peppers, garlic, and parmesan and Romano cheeses.
Taco Bell product innovation vice-president Luis Restrepo stated: “The street taco is a cultural staple built on bold flavour and quality ingredients, and the Toasted Cheddar Street Chalupa honours that tradition while bringing in a unique Taco Bell touch.
“Fans immediately fell in love with the crispy, cheesy bite of the Toasted Cheddar Chalupa in 2019, and now we’re elevating that street-inspired flavour experience.”
The Toasted Cheddar Street Chalupas Discovery Luxe Box includes two Toasted Cheddar Street Chalupas with a choice of Cantina Chicken or Steak, a Nacho Cheese Doritos Locos Tacos, a Crunchy Taco, Cinnamon Twists and a Medium Fountain Drink and is priced at $9.
Taco Bell tested the Toasted Cheddar Street Chalupas in Houston, Texas in August 2024 and announced the nationwide rollout at its Live Más LIVE event in New York on 4 March 2025.
The new menu item is a limited-time offer, available from 27 March while supplies last.
