American-Mexican quick-service restaurant brand Taco John’s is re-introducing its Alaska Flounder Fish Tacos, a limited-time menu item, from 27 February 2025.
The dish features wild-caught Alaska flounder, with a texture described as “tender and flaky,” in seasoned batter.
The Alaska Flounder Fish Tacos are topped with fresh shredded lettuce and Pico de Gallo, a traditional Mexican salsa.
Each taco is assembled in a warm flour tortilla and finished with Taco John’s Fiesta sauce – a blend of sour cream with jalapeños, onions, garlic, tomato and cilantro (coriander).
Customers can order the tacos in-store, through the drive-through or via the app.
Priced at under $4 for a single taco, the meal can also be upgraded to a combo. The combo includes two Alaska Flounder Fish Tacos, a side of Potato Olés and a small fountain drink, with prices varying by location.
The limited-time offering will conclude in May 2025.
Alaska Seafood Marketing Institute foodservice marketing coordinator Sarah Wallace stated: “We’re thrilled to collaborate with Taco John’s for another year as they feature wild-caught Alaska flounder in their fish tacos.”
“Alaska’s cold, pristine waters create the perfect environment for flounder, a fish known for its exceptional flavour and delicate texture. The quality of our wild-caught flounder is a direct result of our commitment to sustainability. Alaska’s constitution ensures that sustainability is at the core of everything we do, with strict management practices that protect fish habitats and allow only responsible harvests. This approach guarantees that our fish populations remain healthy, ensuring a consistent supply of premium seafood for years to come.”
In January 2025, Taco John’s launched the OMCheese Quesadilla Taco, a menu item that merges a four-cheese quesadilla with a taco, for a limited period.
Set up in 1969 in Cheyenne, Wyoming, Taco John’s has 350 restaurants in 22 US states.
