TGI Fridays Malaysia has reassured its customers that its operations will continue uninterrupted and remain unaffected by the recent TGI Fridays’ Chapter 11 bankruptcy filing in the US.

TGI Fridays, which manages 39 corporate-owned restaurants in the US, filed for Chapter 11 protection in Dallas, Texas.

The move is aimed at reorganising the company’s finances to secure its future stability. However, this filing affects only the corporate-owned entities within the US, leaving more than 400 global franchise restaurants operating normally.

Craveat International, a wholly owned Techna-X Berhad subsidiary and the master franchisee for TGI Fridays Malaysia, operates under an agreement with TGI Fridays Franchisor. This entity is distinct from TGI Fridays and is not involved in the US-based restructuring process.

TGI Fridays Franchisor has licensed the brand to 56 franchisees across 41 countries.

All these locations are independently owned and are not part of the Chapter 11 proceedings initiated by TGI Fridays.  They are continuing to serve their customers as usual.
