Canada-based restaurant chain Tim Hortons has made its debut in the Singaporean coffee shop market by opening its first outlet at VivoCity mall, Bloomberg has reported.
The initiative was led by Marubeni Growth Capital Asia, a subsidiary of Marubeni Corporation.
Going forward, Marubeni Growth Capital Asia also plans to further expand Tim Horton’s footprint to Malaysia and Indonesia within the next year.
According to the report, Tim Hortons, known for its coffees, doughnuts and Timbits, is reportedly planning to open three more stores across the country in the coming months.
The opening of Tim Hortons venue in Singapore will be third in the Southeast Asian region after the Philippines and Thailand.
In addition to the Philippines and Thailand, Tim Hortons has also established its presence across other Asian markets, including India, Pakistan and China.
