Uber has entered a strategic partnership with restaurant technology platform OpenTable, which is part of Booking Holdings, to enhance the dining experiences of consumers across the globe.
The collaboration will combine Uber’s ride-hailing and delivery services with OpenTable’s restaurant network across Australia, Canada, Ireland, Mexico, the UK and the US.
Uber CEO Dara Khosrowshahi stated: “We’re always looking for ways to help people go out and get the best of their cities. As a first step, our partnership with OpenTable will make it easier than ever to find and book a great restaurant and get there without a hitch. And we’re excited to continue making Uber One even more valuable to our members.”
During 2025, the companies will build staged integrations between the Uber Eats, Uber and OpenTable apps, giving customers access to features including dining reservations, transportation options and exclusive membership benefits.
The partnership aims to assist more than one million restaurants worldwide that partner with Uber and OpenTable to create additional revenue opportunities and help them engage with existing and future diners.
OpenTable CEO Debby Soo added: “Together with Uber, we’re redefining what it means to dine out in a connected world. Dining, delivery and transportation are all intimately connected. This partnership strategically positions OpenTable to make those daily experiences as integrated and frictionless as possible for restaurants and diners.”
In March 2025, Uber Technologies partnered Darden Restaurants to launch an on-demand delivery pilot programme at Cheddar’s Scratch Kitchen.
The initiative, currently being tested in ten Cheddar’s locations in the US, enables guests to enjoy the ease of placing orders via Cheddar’s website and app while Uber Direct manages delivery logistics through its national network.
